About Us

We have been supporting

professional artist members since 1964...

The Thousand Oaks Art Association (TOAA) is the oldest art membership group in the Conejo Valley.

The group has evolved since the early ‘60s from art appreciators, filing Articles of Incorporation on September 4, l964 to become

a non-profit corporation under Internal Revenue tax code, Section 501 (c ) (3).

Due to the generosity of Pamela McCord, a former member and our benefactor, we have thrived as a non-profit organization for more than fifty years. McCord’s altruistic motive was to help the Thousand Oaks Art Association find housing for the arts.
TOAA filed amended Articles of Incorporation Sept 23, l985 and about that time reorganized membership requirements for working artists.

TOAA artist members are juried into the organization twice a year by a three-member panel of judges.
We support our artists as they seek ongoing inspiration and technical knowledge, as well as exposure to buyers and art collectors.

TOAA gives its artists opportunities to exhibit their work and exchange professional information, participate in critiques,

attend workshops and lectures, participate in plein air experiences, and attend field trips to museums and other places of artistic interest.

Our mission is to promote and develop cultural resources for our community through the spirit of friendship,

artistic expression, education and philanthropy.

Our home gallery is the beautiful, spacious 3,000 square foot Thousand Oaks Community Gallery located in Newbury Park on Borchard Road.
